Today, we cast our gaze far beyond the borders of Africa into the Ukranian lands. We take you on a short trip to discover and explore new possibilities in the world of interior design. Our short trip takes us into the world of celebrated Ukranian Designer Daria Zinovatnaya. Come along as we discover, through Daria’s works, what interior design looks like on the other side.
Daria Zinovatnaya is an Ukranian industrial and interior designer that creates furniture, interiors, and architectural concepts with the base of her works centered around her love and mastery of color and geometry. Daria’s designs stand out with her combination of simple form with unusual execution, brought together by layering bold colors and shapes that complement, rather than overwhelm.
According to design website- Ignant, the designer when commissioned, conceieves not just a single item, but rather the entire space-Wall, Art, Furnishing, Ceiling work…etc.
The Saint Petersburg based designer is inspired by varied renowned architect and designer names liike- Matisse, Le Corbusier, Eileen Gray and Charlotte Perriand.
The designer explains that every design process for her is initiated by an experiment with colors. She says ” Beginning any of my work, I experiment with colors to choose the palette, and then I start to play with colors and objects to find the balance”
We are absolutely intrigued by Daria’s daring approach to design, which sits outside conventional interior design industry showcases.
