Attracting positive energy into your home

With so much going on around the world, individual peace of mind is paramount! For instance, it’s hard to ignore that there’s a whole lot of ups and down in our dear country, Nigeria. From waking up to the news of a money devouring reptile to other stories that are most definitely not pleasant, too many things are constantly struggling for our attention and draining our energy. With that being said, it’s important to filter and protect the energy you allow into your space by Attracting positive energy into your home.

It’s been scientifically proven that the quality of our environment directly influences the quality of our mental, psychological, emotional and physical well-being and our lives as a whole. Therefore, in order to attain the highest level of balance and comfort, there has to be a connection between you and your space, which helps to maximize your potential for success in all areas of life.

There are various ways of attracting positive energy into your home but this article will focus on “Feng Shui”, as a means of doing so. Described by Wikipedia as a Chinese metaphysical and quasi-philosophical system that seeks to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment, Feng Shui is a practice based on the idea that our homes are a mirror of what’s happening inside us. The purpose of Feng shui is to get your environment in alignment with who you are and where you want to go, to harmonize your energy with your home’s energy by carefully considering what you bring in. how you arrange your rooms, and how you maintain the place.

There are plenty elements in this practice that are completely down-to-earth and budget friendly. One of the tools used in Feng shui is called the Feng Shui Bagua Map (which literally means eight areas). Each of these areas represent a significant area of our lives, including family, career, wealth, and relationships. These connections influence us at profound levels. In order to get an understanding of what is going on in our lives, it is often very helpful to apply this Bagua Map over the home’s floor plan to read the energy of the space and its effect on us. You can also use this Feng Shui Bagua map for your home to resolve the most pressing problems.

Applying the Bagua Map

1. Sketch the outline of your home looking from a bird’s eye viewpoint. Note where the front door is located or Stand inside your home with your back to the front door. Look forward. The part of your home in the far left corner is the money/wealth sector. The far right corner is the relationship zone.
2. Section the sketch into 9 equal areas (regardless of rooms in the home).
3. Use the diagram to determine the positioning of the Bagua. The front entrance should be in one of the following areas (along the bottom of the Map): Self-Knowledge & Spirituality, Career & Life’s Path, or Helpful People.

You can also apply the Bagua Map to individual rooms.
